Burmese Python

Burmese Pythons are one of the largest snake species in the world reaching a length of 20 feet and 200 lbs. They live throughout Southeast Asia and are known for their intricately patterned skin. Here at The Green Planet, our visitors have the chance to touch and get to know one of our pythons or boas during your visit!

Common Squirrel Monkeys are small new world monkeys found throughout South America. They have a long tail that is not prehensile but can be used to help them with their incredible balance as they navigate through their arboreal environment

The Green Planet wants to give its guests an opportunity to spend some additional time with one of its most iconic members “The Sloth”, by providing the new Sloth Encounter Experience. These sloths stay in the same tree for years and they sleep around 15 hours a day.

Cuban Amazon Parrot

The Cuban Amazon Parrot can be found throughout the tropical Cuba, Bahamas and the Cayman Islands. The smallest of the Amazon Parrots, they can be distinguished by the red coloring on their head.

Leaf Cutter Ants

Call it - 'Atta'

Leaf Cutter Ants form their colonies throughout the South American rainforest. They are known for their intricate fungal structures that they call their home and food source. Guest at The Green Planet can watch the leaf cutter ants forage for materials to use to continue building their fungus.

Motoro Rays

Call it -'Potamotrygon motoro'

Also known as Motoro Stingrays, they are river dwelling rays that are found throughout South America. Their spotted patterning is distinctly unique for every individual animal.

Archer Fish

Call it - 'Toxotes jaculatrix'

Come by our Archer Fish demonstration to see their unique ability to aim and squirt water up into the air. A protruding lower jaw allows these fish to target food such as small insects that may be sitting on overhanging leaves and push them into the water with a stream of water.
